A tenant portal for your renters

A tenant portal is where a renter can see their lease, their bills and their deposit without asking the landlord for them. In Crestlet, a tenant joins their unit with its access code and finds all three there, free of charge.

How a tenant joins

  1. Every unit in Crestlet has its own access code. The landlord shares it.
  2. The tenant creates an account and enters the code.
  3. They are linked to that unit. If the landlord had already added their details with the same phone number, the two records are matched.

What tenants see

  • Their lease

The terms they agreed to, from the rent and due day to the notice period.

  • Every bill

Each invoice as it is issued, with what it covers and when it is due. Any of them can be printed.

  • What they have paid

The payments recorded against each bill, and what is left.

  • Their deposit

How much is held, and at move-out every deduction with its reason.

  • Their details

A profile they keep up to date themselves, so the landlord always has the right number.

  • On any device

It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. Nothing to install.

Why landlords give tenants a portal

Most messages between a landlord and a tenant are about something already written down: what is due, when, and what was paid. When both of them can read the same record, those messages mostly stop.

Questions

Do tenants pay for the portal?
No. Tenants never pay for Crestlet.
What if a tenant has no unit code?
The code comes from the landlord. A tenant can sign up first and join the unit when the code arrives.
Can one tenant see another tenant’s records?
No. A tenant sees only the tenancy of the unit they joined, and the landlord sees the tenancies of their own properties.
Does a tenant need to install an app?
No. The portal runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
What if a code reaches the wrong person?
The landlord changes it. Each unit’s code can be replaced at any time, and the unit gets a new one.
