Rent invoices, drafted from the lease
Each lease already says what is owed and when. Crestlet turns that into an invoice for every cycle, with the rent and every recurring charge on it, so nobody has to type one up.
From lease to invoice
- Set the rent, how often it is billed and the day it falls due when you draft the lease.
- Add the recurring charges that go with the home, such as parking or a service fee.
- When a cycle falls due, draft its invoice in one step. Every invoice that is due is drafted at once, across all your properties.
- Check the drafts and issue them. Each tenant sees their own invoice straight away.
What goes on an invoice
The rent
The amount from the lease, for the period the invoice covers.
Recurring charges
Anything else the lease charges every cycle, each on its own line.
The dates
The period it covers, the day it falls due and the day it was issued.
A number
Every invoice is numbered, so a payment can be matched to it.
The currency
The lease’s own currency, whichever one it is.
What is left to pay
Once a payment is recorded, the invoice shows what has been paid and what is left.
Questions
- Can I change an invoice before it goes out?
- Yes. A new invoice starts as a draft. You check it, and it reaches the tenant only when you issue it.
- Can I print an invoice or save it as a PDF?
- Yes. Every invoice has a print view, and your browser's print dialog can save it as a PDF. Tenants can print theirs too.
- What if I only need a single invoice, without an account?
- Use the free rent invoice generator. It runs in your browser and saves nothing.
- Can I invoice every tenant at once?
- Yes. One step drafts every invoice that has come due, across all your properties. You check the drafts and issue them.
- Can rent be invoiced quarterly or yearly?
- Yes. A lease bills monthly, quarterly or yearly. A charge can come with every invoice, or with one invoice only, such as a one-time fee.
